You may choose to just indulge in the beauty – listening to the unsurpassed dawn chorus, watching the crimson display of carmine bee eaters, or the moon rising over the papyrus. But for those interested to know and understand more about the true face of Africa, layers of activities lie waiting to be discovered.Stay in our area for longer than a few nights and we can link you to any of the following:

Cultural Village Experiences (including the San), Traditional Forging, Traditional Reed Gathering, Basket Weaving Classes, Paper Making, Donkey Cart Rides, Pottery and even Star Gazing!

HORSE RIDING

Horse riding on the Okavango floodplains or through the local village - we tailor make your ride.

Local, experienced guides give riding lessons even to children, or take you into the inner beauty of the floodplains, sharing nature as well as explain how local communities survive inside a World Heritage site, in harmony with nature.

BOAT CRUISING

Enjoy sunset cruises accompanied by hippos, crocodiles and LOADS of birds.  Come see our diverse sunsets and cloud formations, storms and stars.

The Okavango is known as one of Africa's top fishing destinations with a wide range of angling species including Pike, Tilapia, Thin Face, Humpback, Nembwe, Threespot and more... Come enjoy the open waters!

BASKET WEAVING

Visit a homestead and sit under a tree learning the art of dyeing the palm fronds, designing patterns and weaving the exquisite Okavango baskets. Indeed a creative must-do activity for the art lover.

MOKORO POLING

One of the favourites... A great way to enjoy the floodplains and it's nature up close and personal with wild and domesticated animals. Order a picnic basket for the perfect brunch or lunch.

GUIDED BIRD WALKS

An area of abundant birdlife not to be missed.  From the Pel's Fishing Owl to the Emerald Cuckoo, from the African Skimmer  in early summer to the Narina Trogon.  Or how about the Luapula cisticola?! You name it...  Open your eyes and we guarantee something new to be checked off from your list.

Clear waterways, papyrus swamps, reed beds, floodplains and riverine forests make the Panhandle region of the Okavango Delta an incredibly diverse and species-rich area for birdlife. Take a bird walk (or by boat) with a local guide - specially when summer migrants arrive.

TSODILO HILLS EXCURSIONS

More than four thousand individual rock paintings depicting animals, people and geometric designs are scattered over four hundred different sights across all four hills.  Tsodilo Hills is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, consisting of rock art, rock shelters, depressions, and caves in southern Africa. It gained its WHS listing in 2001 because of its unique religious and spiritual significance to local peoples, as well as its unique record of human settlement over many millennia.
